Of course, the 727 is the ideal aircraft for short-haul routes in the early-1960s because of its fuel efficiency and range.

The Tu-124 on the other hand, isn't so great at that. Plus, it even has less passenger capacity than the 727.

If you want to fly russian short haul planes I'd say you should go for the TU-104. But you'll need to replace them before you get this oil crisis stuff, it'll kill your company.
