The Antonov An-225 Mriy (dream) (Ukrainian: Антонов Ан-225 Мрiя) is a strategic cargo airplane powered by six engines. It is the heaviest and longest airplane ever built in the world. It also has the largest wingspan of any aircraft in operational service. As of August 2020 there has only been one aircraft ever built and it still remains in service. It is operated by Antonov Airlines, a heavy lift oversized cargo airline that is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Antonov. A second airframe was partially built; its completion was halted because of lack of funding and interest. There has been renewed interest in the airframe but a lack of funding has delayed the completion.
