Strategy[]
Phoenix is a very popular city, due to its high ratings. Because of this, beginners are not recommended to start here. Although there is heavy competition for routes, the city can still sustain it. However, making monopoly routes to medium sized cities such as Cincinnati is usually preferable than competition routes to big cities such as New York. Phoenix's location is slightly disadvantageous. While it has many connection choices to the south and east, there are few routes to be made to the west, excluding Honolulu and Kona.
Phoenix Sky Harbor Int'l Airport will usually achieve maximum slot demand within the first 10 to 15 years of the game. As such, the airport is a prime choice to buy from the national government. However, additional airports are usually a waste as they will probably not grow beyond level 4 or 5. Thus, they should be avoided unless better options are available.
Large Planes such as the Airbus A380, Boeing 747 and Lockheed L-1011 should be used on routes to large cities. For smaller cities, mid-sized planes such as the Boeing 757, Airbus A300 and Tupolev Tu-154 are generally better. Small planes are not recommended as they will increase depreciation rates on those aircraft, since two will often be needed to fill the route's demand.
